The Lighthouse is a quarterly event, which is designed to galvanise the artistic and local community, offering the opportunity to explore new ideas in a nurturing and relaxed environment. Each event is themed around our 8 o'clock slot and Januarys event will be VULNERABILITY - and we'll be showcasing new work from performers, film makers, spoken word and mixed form artists.
8 'o' Clock Slot
We, like so many of us, have been thoroughly disheartened and upset by the social fissure that seems to have opened up in our country over the past couple of months.
It seems that although the referendum brought this stuff into a horrible and violent focus, this feeling of ‘them and us’ has been bubbling under the surface for a long time. We want to change this. We want to pull some ideas together about how we can, in the most positive way possible and think about what this multi-cultural nation we all live in can really mean to all of us. Without rage and rancour from any side.
A spotlight on two people. Each one exists in their own separate channel, a journey from start to finish connected by their willingness to push themselves forward. But what connects them is an unmovable force.
A shadow in their wake that is slowly catching, eager to takeover and pusheach one into its slipstream.
Slipstream will use theatre, movement, music and puppetry, to put a spotlight on two people trying to navigate the complex world of mental
health and depression.

Are we just a culture of continuous entropic echoes of discord repeating, or is it time to revolt? Tim has a series of market research questions sourcing ingredients for a pot about to be placed onto simmer.
CONFESSION exists to engage us within a reflective space. A way to remove the vulnerability of sharing something that too often we are unprepared to expose, and make the sharing of writing as accessible as the writing itself.
For our next Lighthouse, we would love for everyone to bring a poem or a short piece of writing. Anything from just a few words or lines up to two or three minutes long.
Floating is a radioplay exploring the refugee crisis and the human and universal dilemmas that result from war and migration. The piece will be performed live in total darkness
